Asher's Big Adventure

Asher woke up Friday morning very slowly. We went for our walk and he was fine. But when I came home from work he didn't greet me, and he was lethargic...even let me go back out to run an errand. When I came back he still wasn't right -- to make a long story short we ended up at the Veterinary Emergency Group in White Plains, where they x-rayed him, and intubated him, and gave him shots of steroids - he either ate something at the park, or ate a bug that bit him or some such thing, but his throat was all swollen inside, as well as some swelling under his tongue. They were going to keep him overnight, but as he felt better he made his feelings about staying in a crate pretty clear -- this was a good eviction notice! He'll be taking steroids for the next week or so, and he can't go to the park for a day or two, or wear a collar around his neck (he'll be thrilled about that! He hasn't barked yet, but he is managing to whine and squeak which he couldn't do Friday.
