Do the Eskimos really have 100 words for snow?

Asher is finding out that he has a lot of words for snow too - or at least he's encountering all sorts of snow this winter. There's the snow that is falling and is wet and fluffy, and the snow that is frozen and kind of hurts on the way down. There is the soft snow that he can romp through and the slightly frozen snow that he can fall through. Then there is the hard, frozen snow that is piled up on the side of the street that doesn't feel so good on those soft pads on the bottom of his feet.

Oh, and then there is ice - there is the black ice that he can slide across and the gray ice that cracks when he walks on it.

And, where is the running snow melt that he enjoyed so much yesterday? It is all frozen again.
