...And it's finally fall!!
Asher and I were very happy to get out and play this morning. We left the house around 11 and headed over to the entrance to the reservoir behind the Pinebrook courts. He gladly galavanted around as we took our regular route.

We ran into a friend of his who we had met before, Roxy. She's a little thang but he enjoyed playing chase with her. We wrapped around and over the bridge and spotted the ducks. Asher was eager to get into the water so he got to the edge

Can you spot that tail?

He decided to jump on in and swim with the duckies. A quick yell from his mama told him to get away from them - it was canadian geese as well as male and female ducks. there was no need for him to play with them.

We decided we'd continue on the trail in a direction we'd never been - asher led the way and encouraged me to join him...

It led us right up to the house that we see from our usual swimming area!

We decided to keep on going. Now the truth is, Asher and I have been watching True Blood on HBO and have the idea of vampires in our head. So we both got a little nervous at one point - especially as we walked over a random scary sketchy bridge...

Do you see the fear in that puppy's eyes?

And anyway, the trail was turning toward Larchmont more and we knew we needed to end up back in New Ro at our car. So we turned around. On our way back, atop that same wall, we ran into some people. The kids go to Murray (a Larchmont elementary school) and had a dog too. Asher wanted to meet the dog, so he ran down the wall pictured below. I think it's at like a 70 degree angle? We were pretty impressed. But then to make matters crazier - when I called Asher back to me he climbed BACK UP the same wall! He's Spider Pup!

We headed over to the swimming spot for some real swimming (mr sea otter at his best)

This is the view of the wall and house (which I was pretty convinced a vampire lives in)

Roxy's owner had warned us that the ticks were bad. So we came right home and hopped into the shower (though asher did try to hide under the bed like last time...grr) Before I soaped him up I picked through and found THREE ticks! Gave him a good scrubbing, brushed him in the shower to see if I could find more ticks, with no luck.

I left to go to my friend/boss' sukkah - and when i came back mr cuteness was hanging out on his bed and i found TWO more ticks just sitting on his face. Then I combed through him again and found one more. Gross! He can't figure out why I keep combing through his hair. Maybe cuz i dont want to sleep with ticks?!

He's got a gazillion random cuts on his body from the hike but it was so worth it - - we had SO much fun and cant wait to show Grandma that cool wall.
